Gabe was born and raised in Sonoma County, the heart of wine country. He began to nurture his passion for culinary cuisine by drawing from the region's vast culinary styles and fresh ingredients. In his youth, he studied grape varieties while cultivating vineyards and bottling wine in the Dry Creek Valley area. Later, he was taken under the wing of the Tamayo Family, when he joined the famed La Tortilla Factory. There he became involved in all aspects of the business from manufacturing through distribution. Inspired to quench his appetite for the industry, he attended the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, graduating with an emphasis in Management. He continued his educational growth at California State University Sacramento, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Entrepreneurship. For nearly five years, Gabe was involved with Sacramento’s premier bed & breakfast, the Amber House. Over that period, he helped manage the site, and preserve its elite status as Sacramento's only AAA Four Diamond Inn. Gabe recently reunited with Michael Tamayo, to aid Michael with his newest endeavor, Sonoma Latina Grill, Marin County's hottest organic Fresh-Mex restaurant. Currently, Gabe is generating new business for the restaurant, while leading the catering division and helping manage operations.| Truth in Tortilla-tizing |
